Five
day long Seminar on ICA (International Cotton Association Ltd.),
Liverpool, U.K. Bylaws & Rules and Arbitration Procedures was
held at a local hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh from June 4-8, 2006
organized by Royal Inspection International Limited. Two former
Presidents of ICA, Liverpool, Andrew Macdonald & Derek A. Tanner
conducted the 5-day seminar.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest M. A. Awal,
Chairman, Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), in the
morning of June 4, 2006. The inaugural session was also
addressed by Mohammad Ali, Managing Director of Royal Inspection
International Limited, Andrew Macdonald and Derek A. Tanner.
In the inaugural speech, M.A. Awal told “the seminar will help
the Cotton, Spinners, Buyers & Traders of our country to know
about the useful Bylaws & Rules based on which claims on short
weight & inferior quality of our imported Raw Cotton can be
recovered from sellers. As most of the
  Cotton
Mills & Traders are not very clear about the Rules & Bylaws, our
country is losing a considerable amount of Foreign Currencies
which also affects our economy”.
Senior Executives from Spinning Mills, Trading & Indenting
houses were present in the Seminar. The Seminar continued till
8th June'2006 presented by the same foreign expatriates & some
members of BTMA, Bangladesh Cotton Association of Agents,
Traders, Growers and Ginners (BCA) and Cotton Spinning Mills
individually on the Chair. ¨
